1-Day Railroad Spike Tomahawk Class

February 8 & 9, 2020 | 8 am to 5 pm

Learn to forge a tomahawk head out of a railroad spike at this 1-day workshop with Steve McGrew! Skills will include shaping, slitting and drifting the eye for a handle, heat treating, grinding and sharpening. Instructions will be given for how to fit a handle to the tomahawk head, but the handle will be an at-home project. We can accommodate 4 students per day, and onlookers are welcome at a reduced cost (bring your own folding chair).

Students must bring their own dust mask and eye protection. Minimum age 15, some forging experience required.
