“Devil’s Blacksmith” Documentary Movie Night & Rootbeer Float Social
It’s about time we had a social event for CFI members, and here it is! We will be screening the documentary “The Devil’s Blacksmith,” a 35-minute video that documents the methods used to re-create the amazing hinges on the doors of the Notre Dame Cathedral in France. According to legend, the hinges were so intricate that the blacksmith had to make a deal with the devil to succeed in making them. When the doors were finished, they wouldn’t open until sprinkled with holy water, which freed the blacksmith from his contract with the devil.
This video details a tour de force of advanced forge welding techniques, demonstrated by Austrian blacksmith Walfrid Huber.
Join us on Saturday, September 22 at 7:30 pm. This will be an outdoor event, weather permitting, please bring your own chair. We will have rootbeer floats and time for talking while we wait for the sun to set, then it’s movie time!
A donation of $5 to support the club is appreciated. The event will be at David Kailey’s house, and the address will be shared with registered attendees before the event.
***Registration is closed for this event.***
